The annual hosting of athletics and gala meetings where we compete against other Centre’s for disabled adults from and beyond the Gauteng Province. We also have a formidable cricket team at the Centre, but have been struggling to find suitable competition for them.
Our annual Eisteddfod fully supported through participation, by other Centre’s, have always been very popular. Many disabled residents with remarkable talents were discovered at these Eisteddfod’s. In addition, we have always participated in RACA hosted by the Randfontein Senior Secondary School.
Our annual Mr & Miss Connie’s competition, exclusively for our own residents, was initiated to accommodate those residents that are not comfortable with participating in physical activities.
Our care givers are instrumental in initiating various stimulating activities on a monthly basis for our residents. These activities includes “Noot vir Noot”, Christmas in July, Valentine’s and Spring Dances, Women’s Day celebrations and a host of other stimulating and enjoyable events.
Our Centre is based on Christian principles, but we are tolerant towards other religions. We have religious opening by various community based leaders on Mondays and we used to transport our residents to various church services every alternative Sundays.
